A Welcome from the Principal (Acting)

It is my pleasure to welcome you to Young High School—a vibrant and inclusive learning community where every student is known, valued and cared for.

At Young High School, we are committed to creating a culture where students are nurtured, inspired and challenged to achieve their personal best. Guided by our GREAT values—Growth, Resilience, Empathy, Acceptance and Teamwork—we foster a safe, respectful and high-expectations environment where every student feels a sense of belonging and is empowered to thrive.

We provide a comprehensive and inclusive curriculum that offers strong foundations in English, mathematics, science and the creative arts, alongside diverse academic, vocational and extracurricular pathways. Our dedicated staff work collaboratively to deliver engaging learning experiences that build confidence, encourage curiosity and prepare students with the knowledge, skills and dispositions needed to succeed in an ever-changing world.

Student wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do. Our experienced wellbeing team, including counselling and career support services, works in partnership with students and families to ensure every young person is supported throughout their educational journey. Enrichment opportunities, including The Resilience Project, student leadership programs, cultural experiences and a wide range of sporting and creative activities, encourage students to discover their strengths, develop resilience and make positive contributions to their community.

We believe that learning is strengthened through strong partnerships. By working closely with parents, carers and our wider community, we create a supportive environment where students are encouraged to strive for excellence in academic, cultural, creative and sporting pursuits. Through targeted literacy and numeracy initiatives, innovative teaching practices and a commitment to continuous improvement, we equip our students to become confident learners, critical thinkers, effective communicators and responsible citizens.
